Akuma (B/A), July 6, GNA- Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has commended the people of Akuma and Nkwabeng and its catchment communities for their efforts in establishing a Senior Secondary School in the area.
Mr. Agyemang-Badu made the commendation when he inspected existing facilities in the school in preparation for the enrolment of the first batch of students in September this year.
He lauded the foresight of the people and gave the assurance that he would discuss the project at a meeting with the district education oversight committee for support towards the project.
Mr. Agyemang-Badu suggested to the communities to organize fund raising rallies towards the completion of the project. Mr. Ahmed Gyabaah, Assembly Member for Akuma conducted the district director round some estate buildings belonging to the late Ben Mensah, a citizen of the area whose family had agreed to release them to serve as classrooms and accommodation for both students and teachers. At Nkwabeng, a six-classroom block constructed by the district assembly with support from the European Union is also being made ready to serve as classrooms for the students. Mr. Kwame Baffoe-Duah, Assembly Member for Yeboasa electoral area appealed to the people to contribute to the success of the project.
