Akwapim South MA Audit Team inaugurated

Nsawam, Oct. 14, GNA - A five-member audit report implementation committee that would ensure the smooth implementation of recommendations of all audit reports on the Akwapim South Municipal Assembly was inaugurated at Nsawam on Tuesday. It would be responsible for advising the Assembly on issues of mismanagement, internal control and compliance with laws, regulations and ethical standards.

Inaugurating the committee, Mr. Kenneth Osman, the Municipal Coordinating Director, said the body will ensure that all heads of department pursue the review and implementation of matters in all audit reports as well as matters raised in the reports of the internal monitoring unit of the assembly.

The committee is made of Dr. Godfred Osei Bonsu Twum, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Osman, Mr Justice Kingsley Yeboah, Presiding Member, a member of the Finance and Administration Committee and an External representative from the Internal Audit Department. According to Mr. Osman, the committee will prepare annual statements showing the status of implementation of recommendations made in all audit reports as well as the Auditor General report. He said the five-member committee would also take action on bad audit reports on any department to prevent the reoccurrence of such issues.
