Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Afrafranto Alliance, is gaining remarkable momentum in the race for the presidency as his campaign strategies resonate with Ghanaians nationwide.

His growing appeal was notably evident in the Zongo communities following the launch of Zumunta, the Zongo wing of the Alliance, in Darkuman, Accra.

The event marked a significant turning point, signalling a strong shift in political support towards Alan Kyerematen, especially in areas traditionally dominated by the NDC and NPP.

The Zumunta launch attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, with many from the Muslim community, underlining the deepening connection between the Afrafranto Alliance and the Zongos.

The National Coordinator of Zumunta, Alhaji Saluhu Bala Maikankan, explained that the name means “friendship of love,” underscoring the Alliance’s commitment to forging strong bonds with these communities.

Alan Kyerematen assured the crowd that his administration would prioritize the unique needs of the Zongos, including job creation and integrating “Makaranta” teachers into the GES payroll.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Darkuman Zongo Chief, SARKI Alhaji Yahuza Omar, and other prominent Zongo Chiefs from Accra. They, along with the masses who gathered, warmly received Mr. Kyerematen’s pledge to empower Zongo Chiefs and Imams by including them on the Hajj Board instead of politicians.

His promise of a Government of National Unity, a core aspect of his Great Transformational Plan, resonated deeply with the crowd.

He also emphasized that under his government, there would be equal opportunities for all Ghanaians, particularly youth and women—a message that was met with great enthusiasm by the chiefs and attendees.

Alan Kyerematen’s ability to connect with these communities is a testament to the growing disillusionment with the current political order. Many Zongo residents expressed their frustration with the NDC and NPP, signalling their readiness for a new political direction.

Before the Zumunta launch, Alan Kyerematen, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Abu Sakara, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar, Henry Asante, Hopeson Adorye, Akwasi Addae Odike, Miss Tina Cudjoe, and other key partners of the Afrafranto Alliance, engaged with the Kokonpe Spare Parts Dealers.

He assured them that he would eliminate import levies on spare parts within the first two years of his administration, a promise that was met with approval by the dealers and further strengthened his support among the business community.

As the Afrafranto Alliance continues to build momentum, it is becoming increasingly clear that Alan Kyerematen is emerging as a formidable force in the upcoming elections. His focus on inclusive governance and his ability to connect with diverse groups have positioned him as a unifying figure in Ghana’s deeply divided political landscape.

The rapid rise of his Alliance suggests that he could potentially disrupt the long-standing dominance of the NDC and NPP, leading the country into a new era of unity and prosperity.
