Kumasi, March 10, GNA - Almere City of Holland has made available through the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) 260 million cedis to support the construction of a two-storey block of classrooms for the Atonsu M/A primary and Junior Secondary Schools.
Mrs Annemarie Jorritsima, Mayor of Almere, who is currently leading a Dutch Trade mission to Kumasi on Wednesday, inspected the building and two other projects being funded by the Almere City. The other two projects comprise a day-care centre for the Kumasi Children's Home and a workshop for a women's group engaged in beads making at Moshie-Zongo.
Mrs Jorritsima said she was committed to the strengthening of the bond of friendship and co-operation between Holland and Ghana. She said as part of this cooperation, the Almere City would provide teaching aids to some schools in Kumasi and arrange exchange programmes between teachers in the two countries.
