The Chief and Elders of Amanase in the Eastern Region have issued a strong disclaimer, warning the public that Mr Kofi Addo Agyekum is not the Gyaasehene of Amanase and does not hold the Gyaasehene Palace of Amanase.

This follows growing concerns that Mr Agyekum has been parading himself in full chieftaincy regalia and circulating flyers on social media that portray him as the legitimate Gyaasehene. The flyers also suggest that he is organising a funeral at the Gyaasehene Palace.

According to a statement signed by Mr Richmond Ntiako-Breni, Secretary to the Amanase Traditional Authority, these claims are false and misleading.

The release recalled that on 23rd April 2023, the Suhum District Police Command retrieved fresh human remains and skeletons from the Amanase Palace in an operation that led to the destoolment of the then Gyaasehene, Nana Addo Agyekum, for his alleged involvement as caretaker of the palace, among other charges brought against him by Nananom.

The Chief emphasised that Mr Kofi Addo Agyekum has been destooled as Gyaasehene of Amanase and has not been enstooled as Chief of Homeso. Therefore, he does not hold the position of Gyaasehene of the Amanase Palace.

They further cautioned the public that any individual or group dealing with him under such false claims does so at their own risk.

The matter has since been reported to the Suhum District Police Command, with copies of the disclaimer also forwarded to the Kyebi Divisional Police, Coaltar District Police Command, and all media houses for immediate public awareness.
