Kumasi, June 9, GNA - The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Kumasi Anglican Senior High School, has constructed a 15-unit classroom science block for the school at the cost of GH¢58,000. Mr Paa Frank Amissah, Chairman of the Association, who told the Ghana News Agency after the school's speech and prize-giving day in Kumasi at the weekend, said the PTA had also donated a 60-seater bus worth GH¢25,000 to the school. In addition, a GH¢4,100 was provided to purchase a mini-bus for the school to facilitate effective and efficient administration and supervision.
It had also put up two dormitory blocks at the cost of GH¢225,000, and provided GH¢50,000 to fence the school. Mr Amissah explained that the provision of the infrastructure and other facilities by the PTA was part of a five-year development programme it launched in 2003. He lauded the immense contributions of parents towards the school's development and added that two months ago, the PTA completed a GH¢24,000 mechanized borehole facility to improve the school's water system.
Mr Seth Aduhene, National President of the Old Students Association, said the association has donated two poly tanks and a set of jerseys worth GH¢1,200. He said it has also donated GH¢100 to the teaching staff for improving the academic output of the school. Mr Aduhene announced that, the old students association in addition has contributed GH¢1,000 towards the improvement of water system in the school. 9 June 08
