Some angry youth in Kumasi are planning a peace march to the Ashanti Regional Minister’s office to protest the conduct of his spokesperson.

Their mission is to petition Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Mensah to call Francis Dodovi to order for allegedly pulling a gun on them.

The Regional Minister’s spokesperson allegedly pulled a pistol on a group of youngsters in a traffic incident at Amakom on Saturday.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when Dodovi and a colleague drove into a faulty stationary vehicle in the middle of the road.

The aggrieved youth are yet to make an official complaint to police, but they insist it occurred in the presence of a CID officer.

One of them, Kwame Osei, told Nhyira News, Dodovi who appeared to be in a hurry stormed out of a VW Passat car and started shouting at them as they tried to fix their faulty car.

A heated argument ensued and attracted on-lookers to the scene.

Kwame Osei alleged in the course of the exchanges, during which some were injured, Dodovi pulled an ash-coloured pistol.

He said not even the presence of the Police CID officer whose name is withheld for strategic reasons, could stop the chaotic situation which lasted for over 20 minutes.

According to him, Dodovi and his colleague who sensed danger sped off when some men in the area marched towards them.

Francis Dodovi has denied any such incident ever occurred, describing the allegation as “bogus”.
