The Commander of the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison in the Central Region, (DCOP) James Amankrah Yeboah has called for the establishment of a Counseling Centre at the facility to aid the reformation of inmates.

He indicated that the lack of the centre and other logistics at the facility was inhibiting efforts to help inmates to reform as well as satisfy their psychological needs.

DCOP Yeboah made this appeal when the Atlantic (ATL) FM, a university of Cape Coast based radio station in collaboration with the facility organised the 2nd edition of the CARE PROJECT for inmates of the Prison during the Yuletide

Initiated by the Station in 2014, the project is aimed at helping inmates to build self-esteem through a talent show, value team work through sports and games, socialize with people from outside the prison and make the inmates feel loved during the period.

DCOP Yeboah expressed gratitude to ATL FM for the initiative and continual support and urged individuals and organizations to also support the prison to help promote peace, unity and stability, and make Ghana a crime free country.
