The Director of Communications at the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana, Alhaji Mohammed Amin Lamptey, has highlighted the significance of the upcoming Annual Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from November 9 to 12, 2025.
The Conference, organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), aims to enhance pilgrim services, promote innovation, and foster proactive leadership within the global Hajj and Umrah ecosystem.
It will also focus on ensuring transparency and effective crisis management across all Hajj-related sectors.
In a post on his Facebook page, Alhaji Aminu Lamptey described the Pilgrims Experience Program as a strategic initiative designed to enrich the spiritual journey of pilgrims.
He noted that the program provides world-class facilities, efficient logistics, improved infrastructure, and digitalized services to ensure an unforgettable spiritual experience for all pilgrims.
According to him, the conference is a highly anticipated annual gathering of key Hajj and Umrah stakeholders, serving as a vital global platform for collaboration and dialogue on leadership, technology, services, logistics and communication.
Alhaji Aminu Lamptey explained that the event will bring together experts, policymakers and entrepreneurs involved in Hajj operations to identify challenges, develop practical solutions and strengthen international cooperation among service providers, participating organizations and countries.
He further cited the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, noting that this year’s conference will focus on enhancing pilgrim services and leveraging modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital reporting systems, and social media ecosystems to create a more integrated and meaningful experience for all pilgrims.
Highlighting key areas of focus, Alhaji Aminu Lamptey said the conference is dedicated to improving the quality of pilgrim services by addressing challenges in accommodation, transportation, feeding, and crowd management, while also fostering a competitive and transparent environment among service providers.
On technological advancements, he stated that the event will serve as a platform to explore and propose the implementation of cutting-edge solutions.
Discussions will also address the impact of unregulated social media on public perception, emphasising ethical and factual communication to counter misinformation and sensational content.
Touching on international collaboration, he emphasized that the conference promotes cooperation among government institutions, private companies, and service providers to create a more integrated and efficient Hajj experience.
This, he said, will strengthen government-to-government, business-to-business, and people-to-people relations through effective transnational communication.
Speaking on the global significance of the event, Alhaji Aminu Lamptey described the Hajj as a profoundly unifying pilgrimage that connects millions of Muslims from diverse backgrounds through a shared spiritual journey.
He said the conference stands as a testament to global peace, humility, equality, and solidarity before Allah, highlighting the collective spiritual experience that serves as a model for unity, empathy and harmony worldwide.
Ghana, he confirmed, is expected to participate in this year’s conference and exhibition, which will span 52,000 square meters and feature over 260 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies and services.
The event will also host more than 80 sessions and 60 workshops, featuring international speakers and industry experts.
