The people of Adeiso in the West Akyem Municipal in the Eastern Region are living in fear with surfacing of a juju man from the Republic of Togo whose description is no different from the dreaded Dr. Beckley.

According to the pastor of a prayer camp at Adeiso who wants to remain anonymous for now, the Beckley look-alike came to take residence at a hamlet not far from his camp and is being consulted by the Togolese and Beninoise citizens who have come over to make Ghana their home.

“This Beckley man is now the distributer of dangerous gods to whoever comes to him for assistance and it appears every house surrounding my prayer camp has a god”, recounted the man of God when this paper paid a visit to him last Saturday.

According to the man of God there had been a meeting of all the juju men in the area to discuss the harm the prayers and church activities of his camp is spiritually affecting their operations and there had been strange snakes that had been seen at his camp many times all to put fear in him to close the camp down.

“I once saw a yellow-coloured snake coming directly at where I was standing in my camp and after nearing me, raised its head to dare me. Just then it put the head down and could not move again. I went behind it and struck it dead with a big stick and burnt it to ashes”, the pastor narrated.

The story did not end with the killing of the snake.

“A few days later, one of the juju men who live very close to me came to me and behaved in a strange manner. When I gave him a seat to tell me his mission in my house, he suddenly fell from the seat, prostrating himself before me and strangely walked with his back towards his house with this man saying nothing to me”, he went on with his narration.

According to the pastor, the juju man, accompanied by his wife came one morning to plead for forgiveness confessing that he was the one who sent that yellow snake to confront me.

The juju man, according to the man of God said the conference of the juju men held some days earlier was to test he, the pastor whether he had his spiritual powers from marine spirits or the Supreme God.

The snake, according to the juju man is the “hit-man” sent to go and bite any supposed enemy of their gods but the encounter with the pastor has confirmed that he is a true man of God.

“It was later that this juju man came to my house with the Beckley look-alike in sort of a courtesy call. But to me it was a way of identifying me to the kin-pin ‘Beckley’ for him to asses me himself for their next spiritual assault”, he said.

The Man of God narrated an incident when a man nearly decapitated his daughter who happened to be his church member.

“The woman’s father in the company of his son in broad day light attacked his own daughter in their very home to kill her for ritual purpose. I learnt that the man consulted this Beckley look-alike and was asked to bring fresh human head before the juju could be activated and it was the daughter’s head he preferred to go with to perform the rituals. But a divine power made the woman to stand firmly against the father’s onslaught by bracing herself with a big stick. The woman, instead of reporting the father to the police rather has gone to live with her husband at one of the nearby town”, the pastor said.

The pastor is calling on the Immigration Service to come over to Adeiso to investigate how these Togolese and Beninoise came into the country and act to save lives of innocent people from being killed for rituals.
