The Anta Next Generations Foundation has donated a range of vital medical equipment to the Sabali CHPS Compound in the Zabzugu District of the Northern Region to support quality healthcare delivery in the area.
The donated items include delivery beds, patient beds, privacy screens, weighing scales, glucometers, and BP machines, among other essential equipment aimed at improving healthcare access in the community.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the items, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Iddrisu Mohammed Saani, said the initiative forms part of the Foundation’s mission to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved areas.
“The beds we are donating today will provide dignity and comfort to patients who need rest and medical care. No longer will patients have to lie on makeshift arrangements or share limited bed space. Each bed represents our commitment to ensuring that even in our most remote communities, sick persons can receive care with dignity,” Saani stated.
He added that the donation goes beyond charity, describing it as a contribution toward holistic regional development.
“This donation is more than a charitable gesture — it is an investment in the future of Northern Ghana. It reflects our belief that development must be holistic and that leadership must be demonstrated through action, not words,” he emphasised.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Health Service, the Zabzugu District Director of Health Services, Victoria Teni Aboyella, expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for the support, saying that the medical equipment will go a long way to strengthen their ability to provide quality healthcare in the area.
“I wish to sincerely express our profound appreciation to Anta Next Generations Foundation for their generous donation of this medical equipment and items to support health service delivery in our facility. This gesture will go a long way in strengthening our capacity to provide quality healthcare to our communities, particularly mothers, children, and vulnerable individuals who depend on our services,” she said.
Madam Aboyella used the occasion to highlight some of the challenges facing the district’s healthcare delivery.
“I would like to seize this opportunity to highlight some of the challenges faced, which include but are not limited to inadequate motorbikes for service delivery, inadequate Doppler and scan machines, inadequate delivery and detention beds, and inadequate computers for data management, among many others,” she added.
Community members and health workers present at the ceremony commended the Anta Next Generations Foundation for its continuous efforts to improve the living standards of people in the Northern Region.
The Anta Next Generations Foundation is a social support and community empowerment initiative of Former Finance Minister and MP for Karaga, Alhaji Mohammed Amin Adam.
