Kumasi, Jan 6, GNA - Apostle Elder Enoch Ofori, Founder and President of the Seventh-Day Pentecostal Assemblies in Ghana, has called for an industrial revolution in Ghana to encourage the manufacture and patronage of made-in-Ghana goods.
He said this would enhance the capabilities and creativity of the Ghanaian to create employment opportunities and wealth so as to stem the mad rush to Europe to search for greener pastures.
Elder Ofori made the call at the Church's New Year camp meeting in Kumasi, which had as its theme, "Africans In Bible prophecy and History".
The camp meeting was attended by members of the Church from all parts of the country.
He attributed the woes of the African continent to the failure of the people to give up the worshipping of idols, while at the same time professing to be true worshippers of God.
Idol worshipping is most displeasing to God. African must therefore, genuinely repent in order to win back the favours and mercies of the Lord.
The loss of our wealth and civilisation to Europe and America is punishment to us Africans to depart from idol worship, which unfortunately still persists, Elder Ofori pointed out.
He said Africa has suffered for far too long due to her disobedience to God and therefore called for repentance for the continent as to win back the favours and mercies of God. Elder Ofori said, however, that in spite of all these problems, there was hope for Africans because they had been offered the opportunity to be joint rulers with Christ.
