Appeal Court judge to build library for Beposo

Beposo (Ash), April 10, GNA - Madam Justice Mariama Owusu, an Appeal Court Judge, has said she would mobilize funds to build a community library at Beposo in the Sekyere West District. She said this at a fund-raising durbar organized by the chiefs and people of Beposo in aid of development projects on Sunday. Madam Justice Owusu said the library would serve as a source of learning centre for the youth in the town to enhance their education. She appealed to the traditional council to release land for the project and appealed to citizens both at home and abroad to contribute to the establishment of the library.

Madam Justice Owusu expressed regret that most of the children in the four junior secondary schools in the town ended their education at the basic level because of poor results in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

She said with the introduction of the capitation grant and other laudable educational policies by the government, it would be morally wrong and unacceptable for any parent to deny his or her child the right to basic education.
