Georgina Kwarteng is appealing to the public for support
Help save my life
My name is Georgina (Afia) Kwarteng, a 40-year-old Ghanaian journalist and public servant. I am courageously battling relapsed nodular sclerosing Hodgkin lymphoma (Stage IIB).
After completing six cycles of chemotherapy at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and achieving remission, my cancer unfortunately relapsed. I am currently receiving salvage chemotherapy while preparing for an autologous stem cell (bone marrow) transplant, which my doctors have recommended as my best chance for long-term recovery.
A specialist review by Dr Ankit Jitani, Consultant Haematologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist in India, recommends further assessment, immunotherapy-based salvage treatment, and an autologous bone marrow transplant once remission is achieved.
Estimated funds required
Medical assessment and investigations – US$800
Two cycles of salvage immunotherapy – US$3,000
Autologous stem cell transplant – US$15,000
Accommodation and meals during treatment – US$3,600–US$3,800
Return airfare for patient and caregiver – US$2,500–US$3,000
Total estimated amount needed: US$25,000–US$26,000
This estimate excludes visa fees, local transportation, additional investigations, medications, and unforeseen medical complications.
My humble appeal
I respectfully appeal to individuals, churches, corporate organisations, foundations, friends, and all people of goodwill to support me in this fight against cancer. Every donation, regardless of the amount, brings me one step closer to receiving this life-saving treatment.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Your kindness, generosity, and prayers will give me hope and another chance at life.
Thank you, and may God richly bless you.
Recommendation: Consider adding your photograph and the logos or first pages of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital medical report and the Indian hospital’s treatment estimate. A clean, one-page flyer featuring these elements would make the appeal more compelling when shared with churches, companies, NGOs, and on social media.
