Koforidua, March 12, GNA- The former Anglican Archbishop of the Province of West Africa, the Most Rev. Robert Garshon Allotey Okine on Sunday cut the sod for the construction of a 500-million cedi vicarage for the St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church at Adweso near Koforidua. Delivering the sermon, Archbishop Okine urged the members of St. Francis of Assisi to let the project unite them to rededicate their lives to the church and the nation.
He urged the members of the church to have faith in God to bless them with the necessary resources and courage to complete the project on time.
Archbishop Okine said construction of a vicarage was necessary if the leadership of the parish would have the peace of mind to provide the needed guidance for the church. He reminded the members of the parish that often, such projects comes along with its own problems as members struggle to find ways of completing the project without much stress but with love, such problems could easily be overcome
Rev. Fr. Kofi Obeng Forsu said the project is a storey building with an office and conference facility on the ground floor and residential accommodation at the top floor. 12 March 2006
