Armed Military Personnel and Police Have Stormed Kumawu

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 Source: Rockson Adofo

Today, Thursday 16 February 2017, and as I write, heavily armed military cum police

personnel have stormed Kumawu-Bodomase to disrupt the late Kumawu Akyempemhene Nana

Okyere Krapa II’s funeral.

They have destroyed the kingly umbrellas of Kumawuhene Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and

his sub-chiefs’ who were in procession to appear on the funeral grounds to swear

the traditional departing oath to the remains of Nana Okyere Krapa II before his

burial tonight.

I have just phoned to someone in Bodomase and he has confirmed that the armed

personnel are firing warning shots continuously into the air. They have chased almost

everybody out of the streets of Bodomase and from the funeral ground.

Should this be allowed to happen in His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo’s

Ghana where Kumawuhemaa Abenaa Serwaah, Dr Yaw Sarfo, the alleged Kumawuhene Sarfo

Tweneboa Kodua and their accomplices could arrange the soldiers and the police to

proceed to a peaceful town to terrorise people?

The media should please air this breaking news for me and I shall do whatever it

takes to bring it to the attention of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwah

Akufo Addo and his NPP government.

Under former President Mahama’s NDC-led government, Kumawuhemaa aided by Asantehene

and DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye intimidated the people of Kumawu with impunity. Are the

people going to sit down to suffer same intimidations under President Nana Addo

Dankwah Akufo Addo’s NPP-led government?

Who authorised the heavily armed military and police to proceed to Kumawu-Bodomase to

carry out, and still carry out the ongoing heinous molestations against the peaceful

people of the town? Is it the NPP government? Does lawlessness; using the police and

soldiers to intimidate innocent people still have a room under His Excellency

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo’s government? If no, what is now happening

in Bodomase and who is behind it or the soldiers and police have no respect for the

government hence could do what they want when they want?

Is the Acting Inspector of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, aware of what is currently

happening in Kumawu-Bodomase? Did he authorise the police to proceed to

Kumawu-Bodomase to do what they are doing as I speak? Come on, in what Ghana are we

living in!!!
