The ninth month of the Islamic calendar is observed by Muslims as Ramadan.
As Muslims worldwide fast to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief, a member of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Dori, has urged the people of Bawku to use the period to reconcile seek for forgiveness and foster peace among themselves.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, an indigene of Bawku spoke to Peacefmonline.com and disclosed that it is his prayer that the Chief Imam of Bawku, Alhaji Murtala Imam, continues to pray for the peace and unity of his dear town and to a larger extent, Ghana as a whole.
According to him, Bawku has constantly been a spot light for conflict and instability for some time now but now enjoying relatively peaceful coexistence among themselves.
Ramadan is the 4th pillar of Islam and it is observed by Muslim all over world. It is characterised by fasting for 30 or 29 days with total submission to the will of Allah.
