The Asante-Akim Central Municipal Assembly, as part of efforts to boost economic activities and improve access to the Municipal capital is embarking on an exercise to rehabilitate key roads in the area.
The two-week activity would see the reshaping of bad roads across the Municipality to ease the plight of commuters.
Among some of the communities that would benefit from the exercise are Nsiakrom, Praaso, Kyekyebiase, Kwakorkor and Kyekyewere.
Selected roads in the Municipal capital, Konongo are also to benefit from the rehabilitation works.
Residents of Abosomtwiagya, one of the suburbs of Konongo, could not hide their joy when they spotted the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mrs. Susan Akomeah, who had come to the area to monitor progress of the works.
The residents praised Chief Executive and the Assembly for fixing their roads as the bad roads was posing a challenge to daily commercial activities.
The MCE who was in the company of some officials of the Assembly said her administration was concerned about the poor road networks in the Municipality and was committed to improving them.
She called for the cooperation of the people and apologized for any inconvenience that the exercise may caused, adding that it was for the collective good of the communities.
