Juaso (Ash), Sept 29, GNA - Eleven schools in the Asante-Akim South District are to benefit from a government-community cost sharing KVIP toilet project.

Under the arrangement, the government would provide 90 per cent of funding with the district assembly and the respective communities contributing five per cent each.

Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive, has met stakeholders to discuss the implementation of the project.

In attendance were head teachers, parent-teacher associations (PTAs), assembly members and chiefs.

When started, it would take 10 weeks to complete.

He said the project would help to improve sanitation in the beneficiary schools and appealed to the communities to give their backing to it.

Mr Fokuo said they should pay their part of the funding to avoid delaying the implementation.

Nana Konadu Yiadom, Sanaahene of Bompata Traditional Area, welcomed the project and pledged total commitment and support of the communities.
