Mampong (Ash), July 19, GNA – The Asante-Mampong Municipal Office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), has received a total of 45 complaints within the first half of this year.

They included abuse of power, child trafficking, child maintenance, intestate succession, labour and tenancy-related issues.

Mr James Mensah Donkor, Municipal Director of the Commission, announced these in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Mampong on Tuesday.

He said the CHRACJ had settled 32 of the cases, adding that during the same period last year, the Commission recorded 42 cases.

Mr Donkor praised the Municipal Assembly, Directorate of Education and the Police for co-operating with the Commission in its investigations.

Mr Donkor called on the people to report human rights abuses, corruption and administrative injustices to the CHRAJ for prompt action.

Mr Donkor said the Municipal Office of CHRAJ lacked adequate office equipment, transportation and funds, and complained that the only motorbike supplied to the office about 17 years ago, had broken down.

He appealed to the government to provide the Office with a vehicle to facilitate public education and investigations.
