Juaso (Ash), April 4, GNA- The Asante-Akim South District has projected 921 million-cedi as internally generated revenue for the year, representing about 82 per cent of its total budget.
Dr Lord Justice Gyamfi-Fenteng, who made this known during the his sessional address at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Juaso at the weekend, said the overall revenue during the fiscal year is about 11 billion cedis.
In other to achieve its revenue target the Assembly has decided to mount revenue posts at Morso, Ofoase, Nkyeso, Yaw Barima and Praso. Dr Gyamfi-Fenteng said summons were being served to people who have defaulted in the payment of basic rates and loans they received from the Assembly.
He said the Land Valuation Board had undertaken the valuation of properties at Atwedie, Asankare, Wankyi, Adomfe, Asuboa and Dampong, which attracted over 55 billion cedis in value.
Dr Gyamfi-Fenteng said 108 cassava farmers had been registered under the Rural Enterprise Development, to benefit from the 500 million cedis earmarked for the project.
He said a site had been acquired at Obogu, for a cassava processing plant.
Dr Gyamfi Fenteng appealed to the traditional rulers to release an additional 50 acres of land for cassava plantation.
