Asenemasohene constructs school for the residents

Asenemaso (Ash), Oct.4, GNA - Nana Opoku-Agyemang Apianin III, Chief of Asenemaso near Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya district is personally financing the construction of a school block at the cost of 300 million cedis for the local Junior Secondary School (JSS) More than 150 million cedis has so far been spent on the project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month. Nana Opoku Agyemang, who is also the Gyaasehene of Bantama traditional area announced this when he led Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the Atwima Nwabiagya District Director of Education to inspect the project on Monday.

The project is being financed through revenue realized from the traditional sources.


Nana Opoku Agyemang said, the local primary school block would also be renovated and a new kindergarten school block put up. He said plans are advanced to offer scholarships and bursaries to brilliant but needy basic school pupils and students in the second cycle and tertiary institutions.

Mr Obeng-Darko commended Nana Opoku Agyemang for his initiative and foresight and advised the citizens to emulate him. The project, which consists of two classrooms, an office, store, two toilets and a bathroom, will absorb the numerous JSS pupils in the area who cannot find school due to inadequate infrastructure.
