Breman Asikuma (C/R), Sept. 5, GNA - The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district Assembly after a lengthy discussion at its last meeting at Breman Asikuma has agreed on one million cedis as ex-gratia payments to each of the members after their four years service. The assembly agreed on the figure after the District Chief Executive for the Area, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson had pleaded with members to accept the amount, saying the Assemply's financial position was poor. The government proposed between one and two million cedis as payments to members of Districts, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies depending upon their financial situation. In his address before the dissolution of the assembly, Mr. Domson commended the members for their hard work and dedication to duty, which he said, enabled the district to undertake some development projects. The DCE said some investors had expressed the desire to invest in the area and appealed to chiefs and other property owners to make land acquisition very easy to facilitate the development of the district. He appealed to the people in the area to participate fully in the impending district assembly elections.
