Asogli to solve conflict among communities

Ho, Sept. 17, GNA - The leadership of the Asogli traditional area would continue to dialogue with any faction within its jurisdiction with a view to further strengthening its existing bonds of unity and peace. Togbe Anikpi III, Chief of Ho-Heve gave this assurance when answering questions at a Press Conference in Ho on Saturday to announce the commencement of activities marking this year's yam festival. It would be under the theme, "Attitudinal change an important prerequisite for prosperity."

Togbe Anikpi said except for a faction in the Ho-Dome division of the Asogli State, the five traditional divisions making up Ho together with Kpenoe, Takla asnd Akoefe, were very much united. He said though that faction had so far refused to accept peace and reconciliation overtures from chiefs of the traditional area, efforts would continue to be made to that end.

Regarding the Asogli Education Fund, Togbe Anikpi explained that the festival would be used to remind the citizenry of its importance and the need for them to contribute to its success. This is because the festival would provide a much broader platform for drawing support for the fund among the citizens of the traditional area and beyond. Addressing the Press conference on behalf of the Agbogbomefia, earlier, Togbe Kasa III, Dufia of Ho-Ahoe said this year's yam festival would underscore the need for attitudinal change as an important prerequisite for prosperity in the traditional area. He said the festival would, among other objectives, seek "to foster unity and reconciliation among us."

"It is through change of heart, change of mind from evil to good, change of attitude to work from laziness to hard-work, which can bring prosperity, progress and development... in the Asogli State," Togbe Kasa noted.
