Kumasi, Oct 7, GNA - The Asokwa Sub-metro Council of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) on Tuesday warned persons putting up residential structures on land reserved for the construction of stores at the Ahinsan Market to stop immediately or face the full rigours of the law.

All occupants of the existing stores at the Ahinsan market were also directed to contact the council for re-registration as their tenancy agreement signed with the old committee expired at the end of last month.

A statement signed by its chairman, Mr Akuamoah Boateng, said a seven-member committee had been formed to oversee the re-registration exercise.

It said the committee would also streamline the management of the market as part of efforts by the Sub-metro to develop the facility into a vibrant satellite market.

The statement appealed to all owners of structures and stores at the market to contact the new committee as soon as possible for new registration forms to formalise their occupation.
