Tongo, (UE), May 3, GNA- Mr. Anaba Anabila Kunsongyane, a 38-year old Development Worker and President's nominee for the Talensi -Nabdam District Assembly was on Friday confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Talensi-Nabdam District in the Upper East Region. He polled all the 36 votes cast and was unanimously confirmed as the DCE for the area. He thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work assiduously to move the development agenda of the District forward but asked for the support of the assembly members, chiefs and people in the district to give him the necessary support to enable him to achieve this goal. Mr.Kunsongyane who was the Presiding Member (PM) for the Assembly, urged the Assembly Members not to sit on the fence and point accusing fingers at the leadership of the Assembly but to get actively involved in the development process of the District. "My doors are opened to constructive criticism aimed at addressing anomalies in my administration and not frivolous and destructive criticism meant to distract and halt the wheel of progress", he said.

Mr. Kunsongyane appealed to all Heads of Departments to work harder to meet their target and help propel the development of the area and urged them not to hesitate to consult with management of the assembly when necessary. He commended Mr. Sebastian Bisnab Tibil, the former DCE for his immense contribution to the development of the District and said he would continue to build and expand on them. Swearing the new DCE into office, Mr. Alhassan Samari congratulated him and the Assembly Members for the mature manner in which they conducted themselves by giving their mandate to the President's nominee. "This is a clear indication that there is unity in the house and this is the key ingredient to development. You should continue with that to help move the development of the young district ahead", he said. Mr. Samari challenged the Assembly to quickly elect a Presiding Member to fill in the gap the new District Chief had left as it would be difficult to hold meetings without a PM. Mrs. Agnes Chegabatia, Upper East Deputy Regional Minister, who was

acting as the DCE for the area before the newly appointed DCE, asked the assembly members to rally behind the DCE to bring more development to the District.
