Assembly cultivates chilli Pepper for export

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Sept. 5, GNA - The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly is cultivating a 200-acre Chilli Pepper project for export to generate foreign exchange to undertake development projects. The District Chief Executive for the Area, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson, who said this at a special meeting to dissolve the District Assembly at Brakwa, said the district would start a weekly export of 50 boxes of pepper by the end of September to the United States of America. Mr. Domson said the Assembly had also acquired a 50-Acre land at Bosomase and Benin for the cultivation of maize under the Youth Employment Programme covering about 300 youth in the district.

The DCE commended the Assembly members for their hard work and dedication to duty during their tenure of office, which he said enabled the district to implement some development projects.

Nana Kweku Adu Twum II, Presiding Member of the assembly called for a continued cooperation among the DCE and heads of department until the next assembly is constituted.
