Kuntanase (Ash), Aug. 11, GNA -The Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Assembly, has presented 40 packets of roofing sheets and 45 bags of cement all valued at 28.4 million cedis to the District National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to be distributed to victims in the various communities who had suffered from rainstorms.
Mr. Bright Addai Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, who made the presentation said, it was the assembly's humble contribution from the common fund to the victims to relieve them of their plight and pledged to support NADMO whenever it was called upon.
Mr Daniel Asuo-Afram, the District NADMO Director who received the items, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the donation and promised to distribute them to the affected victims. He said many communities had suffered from either storms or fire outbreaks and named some of them as Konkoma, Brodekwano, Abono, Gyekye, Nweneso, Kromoase, Esreso and Afrancho-Odumase.
Mr Asuo-Afram therefore, appealed to NGOs and other philanthropists to help NADMO with materials to be able to assist the numerous victims displaced by these calamities. He urged the communities to make tree planting a priority as the trees were capable of checking storms or reduce their impact.
