Nsuaem No.2 (Ash), Oct.11, GNA-Nana Amma Serwaah, Obaahemaah of Nsuaem Number Two has expressed serious concern about the neglect of the town and that of Nsuaem Number One by the Amansie East District Assembly.

"There is virtually no development project being carried out by the assembly in the two communities, apart from three-classroom block each recently built under European Union Micro projects programme", Nana Serwaah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nsuaem Number Two. She regretted that appeals to the assembly to turn its attention to the two communities had fallen on deaf ears.

The Obaahemaa said currently there is no place of convenience in the town, which had led to poor environmental sanitation. In addition the Police station in the town had almost been abandoned, as the only policeman there is not regular at the station. Nana Serwaah said the road leading to Nsuaem Number two through Nsuaem number one from Abosamso had become almost impassable due to years of neglect.

She added that because the assembly had failed to develop the area a market, which was serving 11 farming communities had folded up. "The assembly could have generated enough revenue from this market during market days", she stressed.

The Obaahemaa said what was even more worrying was that the youth in the town were blaming the elders for not pressing the assembly to consider the area in their development programmes. "The youth are blaming us for not pressing the assembly to develop the area and as a result they have stopped attending communal labour", Nana Serwaah said.

She therefore made a passionate appeal to the assembly to direct attention to the two communities", since Nsuaem number one and Nsuaem number two, form part of Amansie East district. Nana Serwaah also appealed to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander to help in the reactivation of the Nsuaem number two police station.
