Assembly spends three billion cedis on projects

Zabzugu, (N/R), June 21, (Credit Dawuni), GNA- The Zabzugu/Tatale District Assembly has constructed nine projects at the cost of three billion cedis out of its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund, the District Wide Assistance Projects and HIPC Funds. The projects include the construction of Nurses Quarters for the Zabzugu polyclinic at the cost of 250 million cedis, construction of a girl's dormitory for the Zabzugu Senior Secondary School (SSS) at 660. 2 million cedis, construction of teacher's quarters at Tatale at 205 million cedis and the construction of a three classroom block for the zabzugu SSS, a four classroom block and an office and store for the Nkalingbani primary school at 343.5 million cedis. Alhaji Yakubu Bukari, Zabzugu/Tatale District Chief Executive made this known when he conducted newsmen around the projects in the district on Wednesday.

The rest of the projects are the construction a nurse's quarters at Kpaributab at the cost of 273.5 million cedis and the construction of office accommodation for the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) at the cost of 189.6 million cedis.

Alhaji Bukari announced that the Assembly had signed an agreement with a partner organisation, New Energy to undertake community sensitisation in some communities in the area for the provision of water, micro-credit facilities, agriculture, livestock and income generating activities. He said the Assembly in collaboration with the Presbyterian Church had trained some artisans in the construction of concrete water tanks for rainwater harvesting.
