This is in fulfillment of the Assembly’s mandate to allocate two per cent of the Common Fund to persons with disabilities, to ease economic hardships and poverty among their ranks.

The Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Joseph Kwaku Adjei, said out of the 80 applicants, only 20 were assisted, due to limited financial resources. Mr Adjei appealed to the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously to enable them to become self-sufficient.
