Saltpond (C/R), March 23, GNA - The Assemblyman for Nkubem electoral area of Saltpond, Mr Francis Ejaaku Donkoh, has appealed to people who have been agitating for the dismissal of the Mfantseman District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, to look beyond their personal interest.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Saltpond on Monday, Mr Donkoh held that for over seven months that the district was without a DCE, almost all its development activities came to a halt until Mr Quainoo-Arthur assumed office.

He said upon his assumption of office, Mr Quainoo-Arthur worked "day and night" to raise the district at par with its neighbours in terms of development.

"Anyone who wants this man to go away because of the person's personal ambitions should be treated as a traitor who does not want the welfare of the district," he said.

The assembly member assured the DCE of the youth's support in his efforts to improve the fortunes of the district.

He appealed to President John Agyekum Kufuor to treat any request for the removal of the DCE from office with contempt.
