Asibey-Nkwanta (Ash), Oct 10, GNA- An NGO in Paris on Thursday donated drugs valued at 12 million cedis to Saint Ann's Maternity Home and Clinic at Asibey-Nkwanta in the Ahafo-Ano South District. The drugs included syringes, reading glasses, painkillers, bandages, infusion sets, and vaccines for snakebites.

Presenting the items, Mr David Osei-Mensah, Director of French Prestige Schools in Kumasi, said the drugs were of high quality and must therefore be taken care of to ensure quality health delivery in the area.

He stressed the need for the government to streamline the clearing of items at the ports as many people refuse to send in goods because of the cumbersome and bureaucratic procedures.

He said it took him seven months to take delivery of the items, which were sent by members of Association Mace Sans Frontieres of Lycee Professionnel Jean Mace of Choisy-Le-roi in Paris.

The Rev Fr Gabriel Justice Anokye, Vice-Rector of the Saint Peter's Regional Seminary in Cape Coast through whose initiatives and efforts the association donated the drugs, said patients should be prepared to pay token fees for the drugs.

Mrs Anna Obiri Yeboah, Nurse/Midwife in-charge of the Home and Clinic, commended the donors and all those who made it possible for the drugs to reach the Home.
