Atebubu CHRAJ disposes of 166 cases

Atebubu, Sept 17, GNA - The Atebubu District Office of Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has disposed off 166 out of 170 cases it received between January and August.

Mr Samuel Vasco Nyamekye, Atebubu District Director of the Commission, said this at the launch of the 10th anniversary of the Commission at Atebubu in Brong Ahafo.

Assembly members, heads of departments, chiefs, opinion leaders and religious bodies attended the launch of the anniversary that is under the theme, "The achievements, prospects and challenges of CHRAJ".

Mr Nyamekye said cases such as neglect of children, children maintenance, interstate succession, unfair treatment, Medicare, paternity and child custody were dealt with during the period.

He appealed to the Atebubu District Assembly, non-governmental organizations and other social clubs as well as Churches to assist the Commission in cash or kind to enable it to carry out its constitutional mandate of safeguarding and promoting human rights.
