Awulae Aka inducted into W/R House of Chiefs

Sekondi, March 16, GNA - Awulae Kaku Aka 11, Omanhene of Awiaso Traditional Area, was on Wednesday, inducted into the Western Regional House of Chiefs, as the 23rd member at a short ceremony. His induction was during the First General Meeting of the House at Sek= ondi.

Awulae Aka is a direct descendent of King Kaku Aka 1, King of Nzemaland, who died in 1851, at the Cape Coast Castle, during his detention by the British.

In a speech, Awulae Agyefi Kwame, Omanhene of Nsein Traditional Area, advised Awulae Aka to unite and foster peace among the people. Awulae Aka should also be truthful to his elders to enable them assist to him to properly rule his subjects, Awulae Kwame said. He expressed regrets that some Queenmothers have disregarded their traditional roles and are engaged in acts, which they should not involve in.

Awulae Kwame said Chiefs are not saints so Queenmothers and elders should refrain from finding faults with their chiefs. He said Queenmothers and elders should not rush to the registrars of the Houses of Chiefs, to destool chiefs, who commit 93First" offence.

Rather, they should counsel chiefs and support them to develop their areas, Awulae Kwame said. Awulae Aka said he would continue to promote peace and development in Nzemaland and the region as a whole.
