Obrachire (C/R), July 18, GNA – The Paramount Chief of the Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Whitey Agyeman-Otabil III, has appealed to the government to enact a law against the practice of homosexuality in the country.

He said the number said to have been recoded in the Central and Western regions is alarming and asked the government to move swiftly to curb the menace before it gains roots in the country.

Nai Agyeman-Otabil said this in a speech read on his behalf by Nai Kwao Otuo, Awutu Mankesimhene, at the first graduation ceremony of 21 students of Obrachire Skills College at Awutu Obrachire over the weekend.

Nai Agyeman-Otabil appealed to Muslims, Christians, heads of educational institutions and security agencies to assist the government in stopping the negative trend.

He commended the government for taking steps to assist the private schools in order to train more people on entrepreneurial skills.

Mr Lawrence Arkoh-Addo, Principal of the College, said the college was established two years ago to offer skill training to the school leavers.

Mr Arkoh-Addo appealed to the government and other Non-Government Organizations to assist the college with the provision of electricity, and hostel facilities.
