Nai Kwashie Kwaley, Twafohene (Chief) of Kasoa Ofankor has appealed President Akufo-Addo to order the District Police Commander to summon the disgruntled members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) who invoked curses on party executives to reverse the curse.

According to him, failure to revoke the curse by Monday February 5, will result in a disaster as the dreaded river god will kill those who have been cursed.

Some aggrieved members of the NPP in the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central Region on Friday invoked curses on executives of the party over what they say is unfair treatment meted out to them. They claim they have been handed a raw deal after their names were removed from the list as delegates.

According to them, the recent polling station elections did not come off in areas such as Iron City and Steps to Christ, but the party National Executives claim the elections have been held and the polling station executives elected.

Scores of the displeased party members who say their numerous petitions addressed to Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu have not been acted upon, stormed the dreaded Odupong Gei Kordua river Friday afternoon to ask the river god to deliver justice in their favour.

They said they can’t resort to the court as that will delay, hence turned to the river god who, according to them will give them quick results.

However the Twafohene of Kasoa Ofankor, Nai Kwashie Kwaley, who felt strongly about the invoking of curse, in an interview with Journalist Benjamin Amuzu Saturday said the traditional authorities will not countenance such acts which will result in needless deaths, hence called for the summoning of those who invoked the curse so they reverse it.

“From today till Monday 8am, President Akufo-Addo should order the MCE and the District Police Commander to have this issue resolved because we want peace in Kasoa, we don’t like any deaths in this area. The Gei Kordua river is ruthless, it acts very fast whenever it is petitioned, within seven days the river god takes a decision. We don’t want people to die in this area in the coming few days. The Police Commander must summon those who invoked the curses to be here on Monday to revoke the curses. If those people are not arrested, we’ll advise ourselves. It is not good for anyone to die, we know what the river god is capable of doing, the consequences of their action will be devastating”
