Kumasi, April 10, GNA - Mr George Ayisi Boateng, an aspirant NPP parliamentary contestant for the Subin constituency primaries in Kumasi has donated three packets of roofing sheets, worth 450 Ghana cedis, to the Asem M/A Boys School in Kumasi to re-roof parts of the classroom block which was ripped-off during a severe rainstorm in Kumasi recently. He has also offered to pay for the services of the carpenter who would undertake the rehabilitation works. Speaking at the presentation on Tuesday, Mr Boateng said his attention was drawn to the problem during a meeting with some people on the school's compound. He said he was touched by the plight of the pupils and as a father decided to re-roof the affected building to enable the pupils continue with their studies.

Mr Boateng indicated that the gesture was a humanitarian one and not political and thanked the teachers for their continued dedication to help the pupils. He, however, appealed to them to continue with their sacrificial work to help the pupils attain higher academic laurels to become responsible citizens in future. Nana Ekow Sackey, Assemblyman for the Asem electoral area, said he had reported the incident to the NADMO and the Metro Education Directorate for assistance but had not yet received any response. He thanked Mr Ayisi Boateng for his timely intervention.
