The Brong-Ahafo regional minister, Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, has urged the Chiefs and people of Nsoatre in the Sunyani West Constituency to give him the mandate to represent them in parliament since he has gained enough experience as a public servant.

He pointed out that previously it was president Kufour who appointed him to the various positions in the region but come December, it would be the turn of the people to elect him to represent them in parliament to justify that his appointments were on merit..

Mr. Baffour Awuah said this when he officially introduced himself as a parliamentary to the chiefs and elders of Nsoatre.

The regional minister bemoaned the protracted chieftaincy dispute in the area and urged Nananom to quickly and amicably resolve the impasse to ensure total development.

He called on Nananom should vote for a candidate who has the track record and the development of the area at heart.

“I appeal to Nananom to elect a candidate who is humble, hardworking and has the vision to accelerate the development of Nsoatre and its surrounding villages”, he said.

Mr. Baffour pointed out that the NPP is the only government in the political history of Ghana to have transformed Nsoatre to its present status and challenged the people to renew the party’s mandate in the December elections for further development.

“No government in Ghana’s history has brought so much development to Nsoatre than the NPP and I can assure you that if you vote for Baffour Awuah as your MP and retain the NPP in the December elections, Nsoatre would benefit from further development projects”, he said.

The regional minister mentioned communication, education, sanitation, healthcare, infrastructure, employment, as some areas the NPP government has addressed and since 2001 and said another eight years for the party would greatly transform the country.

The Twafohene of Nsoatre, Nana Kwame Korang, appealed to Nananom to change the voting pattern in favour of the NPP since the party has done so much for the community.

“I would humbly suggest to our elders to avoid voting against the NPP because the party has really transformed our area and we must show appreciation”, he said.

The Sanaahene of the area, Nana Amankwa Appiah, advised the people to avoid the skirt and blouse voting since that may not auger well for the development of area.

Both the Akwamuhene, Nana Asi Kwasi and Twabiri Obaapanin, Nana Yaa Adomah Kyei, commended the regional for leading the development agenda of the area and pledged the support of the chiefs in bid to become the MP for the area.

A farmer, Kwame Boakye popularly known as ‘Wallas’ prophesied that the regional minister would sooner than later become the president of the country.
