Baabianeha gets new chief

Baabianeha (B/A) Aug 1 GNA - Mr Kwadwo Agyeman Prempeh, 46, Banking Officer of the Bank of Ghana has been enstooled as chief of Baabianeha, near Kofi Badu-krom in the Dormaa Traditional Area under the stool name Nana Nkumsa Agyeman III.

He succeeds the late Nana Nkumsa Nketiah, who died a year ago. Nana Yaw Yeboah, Ahenanahene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, who swore in the new chief at a colourful ceremony, described the Baabianeha stool as very important in the history of the traditional area and urged the people to regard it as such.

He reminded the new chief of the closeness of the town with La Cote D'Ivoire and asked him to be patient, friendly and tolerant as a traditional ruler.

Nana Yeboah appealed to the new chief to effectively mobilise the available material and human resources to improve the living conditions of the people.

Nana Agyeman thanked the Dormaa Traditional Area for the honour done him and promised to continue the work of his predecessor. He promised to mobilise the people towards the development of the town and the traditional area.

Nana Agyeman appealed to the people to forge ahead in unity and avoid all unnecessary and divisive tendencies that hampered development. The new chief, an old student of Dormaa Secondary School, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
