Ghana's Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has assured the leaders of the Law Students Union of the University for Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS), of his support in advancing their faculty.
He gave this assurance after the leadership of the law students union paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Wa, to congratulate him on his successful installation as a Development chief by the Wa Traditional Council and also to use the opportunity to discuss teething challenges of the UBIDS Faculty of Law.
The president of the union, Mr. Nerous Daguah, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, congratulated Bagbin for the many legacy projects he has been doing for the good people of the Upper West Region.

Background:
This university emerged from the former University for Development (UDS) Wa campus. The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) was established in 2019 by an Act of Parliament (Act 1001) and came into being in May 2020 with its main campus in Bamahu, Wa.
The School of Law was created in the 2022/23 academic year. The siting of the law faculty in SDD-UBIDS in Wa provides a unique geographic site for legal education in the five regions of northern Ghana. To many, it is a dream come true.
On March 3, 2023, the School of Law was duly launched with 106 students.
