Bagre Dam Spillage: NADMO issues flood alert

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has sent a 25-man team headed by its Deputy Director-General, Abu Ramadan, to the regions up north, to deal with the aftermath of the spillage of the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.

According to SONABEL Authorities of Burkina Faso, Managers of the Bagre Dam, the spillage has become necessary due to the 81 per cent increase in the water level.

As a result, residents around the Black and White Volta have been cautioned to move to higher ground to avert any flood deaths.

According to the Director-General of NADMO, Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, personnel in the three regions of the north, are on standby to help residents relocate and help with rescue operations.

He added that his deputy is also leading a team to the north to augment the existing numbers.
