Kasoa, Aug. 10, GNA - Pupils of His Grace Preparatory and Junior High School, at Kasoa, are to wear their traditional attire or clothes every first Friday of each month to classes. Mr Joshua Ampong, Director of the School, announced this on Friday during an interaction with the children to help them understand the complexity of social interaction, involving peaceful co-existence. He said the introduction of the Friday wear would also reduce the copying of foreign culture by the youth. He cited how many adults today cannot wear the Akan cloth and let it remain stable unless clipped with pins, all because they wear foreign clothes daily, adding that, the new directive would make the children to be proud of where they come from. He said the programme would not only strengthen the continuity of culture, but promote the Ghanaian personality and give attention to the preservation cultural heritage. 10 Aug. 09
