Bawku (U/R), March 08, GNA - The Bawku Municipal Assembly (BMA) on Wednesday embarked on an exercise to remove all unauthorised structures and containers in the new central market and access roads in Bawku. The assembly has also served notices to owners of containers without permits along the main streets in the municipality to remove them before the end of the month or risk being removed.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency on the exercise, the Deputy Coordinating Director of BMA, Mr. Fuseini Alhassan, said most container owners did not seek permit from BMA before locating such structures. He said in spite of several appeals and warnings to them, they have refused to relocate, thereby encouraging others to follow. Mr Alhassan said for now, the exercise would be limited to the new market and the access roads in the town.
He appealed to the residents to bear with BMA to instil discipline and rid the towns of filth.
