Bawku (U/E), April 9, GNA - The Christian community in Bawku on Sunday joined others around the country to celebrate Palm Sunday with church services.
Waving palm fronds, they went on a procession through some principal streets in the town to mark the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
In a sermon at the Mt. Sinai Methodist church, Rev. Francis Sarbiga, called on Christians to develop the attitude of "walking in the path of Jesus Christ" to remove sufferings among mankind in the country. He called for unity among the body of Christ and stated that any form of disunity would retard the progress of spreading the Gospel. At the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Sylvanus Tindag, said the world had reached its threshold of the end times and therefore entreated Christians to be faithful and obedient to God's word. He said this calls for ensuring peace among Christians at all times towards a stable environment.
Rev. Martin Lamisi of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church also called on Christians to learn to accept criticisms and that they must humbly submit to God in order to seek his pardon to progress in life.
