Berekum (B/A), Nov. 9, GNA - Mr. Norbert Krakah, Berekum Municipal Statistician, said the area has recorded 98 per cent coverage of the 2010 Population and Housing Census.

The Municipal Statistician in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Berekum, attributed the achievement to the hard work of the Municipal Census Implementation committee.

He commended the committee that was under the chairmanship of the Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. J.B. Tuoyire and had 169 enumerators, 30 field supervisors, three institutional enumerators, 30 supervisors and two senior supervisors.

Mr. Krakah said the first two weeks period of the exercise elapsed with some problems including shortage of census materials and other logistics.

He explained that the mopping up exercise, however, ensured the achievement of the 98 per cent coverage.
