Best farmer says farming is lucrative

Akonkonti (B/A), Dec. 11, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Acquah Asante, Nkoranza District best cattle farmer, has advised livestock and poultry farmers to ensure clean surroundings for the animals. Mr. Asante was addressing farmers in Nkoranza district after receiving his award at the district's celebration of the 23rd farmer's day at Akonkonti.

Akonkonti (B/A), Dec. 11, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Acquah Asante, Nkoranza District best cattle farmer, has advised livestock and poultry farmers to ensure clean surroundings for the animals. Mr. Asante was addressing farmers in Nkoranza district after receiving his award at the district's celebration of the 23rd farmer's day at Akonkonti. He deplored the practice by some livestock keepers who allowed their animals to roam the streets and cause nuisance in the communities. Mr. Asante said livestock keeping was a lucrative economic venture and advised the farmers to attach great importance to their activities. He called on farmers to adhere to advice by agricultural extension officers "who know the best about modern methods of farming". "Farming is a business and its operators must have vision of earning a living through it and attach the necessary importance to any type of farming they are engaged in", Mr. Asante stressed.
