A 28-year-old bicycle repairer, Benjamin Kwabena, has been remanded by a court at Trede at the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region for allegedly sexually abusing three young siblings: twins aged 4 and 11, after reportedly using his bicycle to gain their trust.

Kwabena, also known as Wofa Atta, is facing accusations of multiple instances of sexual abuse against Desmond Kwadwo Kyei, 11, and four-year-old twins Christian Francis Adobotugu and Christiana Francisca Adobotugu. The complaint was lodged by their mother, Mary Aboagyewaa, 46, a charcoal seller residing at Adumasa near Trede.

According to police investigations, Kwabena, who lives at Ahenema Kokoben Island City near Trede with his elder sister, developed a close relationship with the victims through his sister's friendship with their mother.

He allegedly paid regular visits to their home, frequently taking the children on rides with his bicycle; a method he reportedly exploited to establish rapport and lure the victims.

The investigation report alleges that Kwabena first lured Desmond to his house, where he purportedly subjected him to anal sex on three separate occasions. He then allegedly lured Christiana Francisca to his residence twice for sexual intercourse, and Christian Francis once.

The alleged abuses reportedly came to light approximately two weeks ago when Kwabena attempted to lure Christian Francis again. It was then that his sister, Christiana, broke her silence in front of their mother, warning her brother not to follow the accused, "else he would have sex with him."

Prompted by this distressing revelation, Mary Aboagyewaa reported the case to the police. Medical report forms have since been issued for the victims to undergo examination.

Benjamin Kwabena was arrested on December 22, 2025, to assist with investigations.

He has since been put before the court, where police are seeking a remand order to allow for the completion of their ongoing inquiry into the serious allegations.

The case is being overseen by three main officials, including the Trede DOVVSU Commander ASPOL Evelyn Appiah Korang, Detective Inspector David serving as the prosecutor, while Detective Inspector Gifty Asare-Brenya is the lead investigator.
