Binduri (UE) Feb. 23, GNA - The Chief of Binduri Traditional Area in the Upper East Region, Naaba Robert Akolbila Agagwine has called on the government to provide the life line for the socio-economic development of the people. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Binduri, Naaba Agagwine listed some of the development challenges of the area as lack of employment for the youth, non-existent of a vibrant market to facilitate economic activities and a senior high school. He said the unstructured traditional setups, non registration of royal gates, and ill demarcated traditional boundaries and the high premium placed on traditional values and norms were among the various dynamics affecting effective development of the area. Naaba Agagwine said he and his sub-chiefs have drafted a proposal to help put in place the needed structures to facilitate development. The traditional authorities are also instituting a farming scheme to help mobilise revenue for developmental projects. Naaba Agagwine said he had the intention of involving his subjects in the dispensation of justice to facilitate fair judgment of cases. He appealed to development agencies to come to the aid of the traditional area to resolve the problems.
