Cape Coast, Feb. 14, GNA- Mr Charles Oppong, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Association of the Blind, has cautioned the public against the wearing of medicated glasses prescribed for others, saying the practice could lead to blindness.
Mr Oppong was speaking at the Christ Church Anglican Cathedral at Cape Coast, as part of the Association's outreach programme to educate the public on the need to take good care of their eyes. He expressed the need for people not to stay too close to their television sets when they are viewing programmes since it could destroy their eyes.
Mr Oppong said any eye defect or injury should be reported immediately to hospital while self-medication must be avoided. The Dean of the Cathedral, Reverend Emmanuel Williams, presented a quantity of Braille and an amount of 1.5 million cedis to the Association, on behalf of the church.
